Christmas and the New Year is just around the corner and Interactive Russia wants to help you bring in 2004 with the grandest of Russian style.
Moscow tours and St.PetersburgThis year St. Petersburg has celebrated its 300th anniversary. The city’s legendary palaces, churches, public administration buildings and private mansions have undergone intense restoration in preparation for this historic event.
Built by Peter the Great to be the Paris of Russia, St. Petersburg provides a window into the past and present of the artistic, cultural, and political life of the country. The city is frequently called the Northern Venice for the myriads of channels and bridges that cut through the egg-shell yellow and pea green baroque and rococo buildings scattered throughout its expanse. In its prime, the city was to become the capital of civilized Europe.
If you have not traveled to St. Petersburg this year you must surely come to the Northern Capital of Russia to experience the splendor of this miraculous city during the winter holiday season. See the legendary Hermitage, the exquisite palaces of Imperial Russia, winter and summer hideaways of the tsars, and the stunning onion turreted churches, which even the Soviets could not bear to tear down. The celebration of the city?s anniversary will continue until December 31: there will be plenty of concerts, performances and exhibitions that will keep you, your family and friends entertained in your free time.
The winter holiday season program includes classic performances by the best of Russia’s modern artists and a special welcoming dinner on arrival. Enchanting Troika rides throughout the city, an opulent Russian banquet on New Year?s Eve, and Masquerade Ball at Yusupov Palace may be added upon request.
